Crockpot BBQ Chicken Sandwiches with pickled cabbage slaw

Ingredients:

  • 4 chicken breasts

  • 1 (8.5 oz) bottle Primal Kitchen BBQ sauce or your favorite brand

  • 1 tbsp coconut sugar, honey, or date syrup

  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder

  • 1/2 tsp onion powder

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 4 hamburger buns

Pickled Cabbage Slaw (needs to be made 1 day ahead of time so it can pickle overnight in the fridge)

  • 1/2 head purple or green cabbage

  • 1 carrot

  • 1/2 white onion

  • 1 cup white vinegar

  • 1.5 cups water

  • 2 teaspoons salt

Directions:

  1. Add first 6 ingredients to your crockpot. Cover with the lid and cook on high for 3 to 4 hours or low for 6 to 7 hours.

  2. Shred with a fork and add any more salt to your own liking. Serve on hamburger buns alongside optional pickled cabbage slaw.
